Lakkidi View Point, also called the “Gateway of Wayanad”, is a scenic vantage point high up on the Thamarassery Ghat Pass. •It sits at an elevation of around 700 meters (≈ 2,296 ft) above sea level. •From here, you can see lush valleys, steep hills, winding roads (with many hairpin bends), and dense Western Ghats forest. •The region gets a lot of rainfall and is frequently shrouded in mist, which makes the views especially dreamy.
Chain Tree (optional stop)
It’s a large fig (Ficus) tree by the roadside in Lakkidi, with a heavy steel chain wrapped around its trunk and hanging from branches. •There’s also a small shrine / temple at the base, often called Karinthandan Temple, dedicated to the local tribal figure associated with the legend.
